Nasi Kunyit (Glutinous Yellow Rice)
Malaysian
Serves 8

INGREDIENTS

1 1/2 lb. pulot (glutinous rice)
3 cups water
3 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 clove garlic, crushed
1 1/2 teaspoon ground tumeric
3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 pandanus
3 cups hot coconut milk
Crisp fried onion flakes

COOKING METHOD

Wash rice and drain

Put into saucepan with water, salt, garlic, tumeric, black pepper, and pandanus leaf for flavoring. Bring to boil, reduce heat, cover tightly, and team for 10 minutes

Uncover, add hot coconut milk, and with long-pronged fork, stir gently so that rice is well mixed. Cover and cook for an additional 10 minutes.

Serve with onion flakes sprinkled on top.
